When I have children, I pray that they take more after their father physically. I’ve experienced all sorts of heartache because of my skin color, acne, weight, accent, attitude, personality, etc. Much of this criticism coming from my own family.
I understand that they believe they are helping, but my opinion is that the family should never be the one to offer intervention concerning a child’s appearance. It’s mentally and emotionally scarring, an extreme load to carry, and often has the opposite effect.
